A gift bag, a card, and a quilt block

My friend April's birthday was this week, so i made her this card. I used one of the texture plates in my SureShot on a piece of double sided paper...like the results! (Stampin' Up! has its own texture plates in the new Spring/Summer 2009 catalogue...i suppose i'll end up getting them!) The white is one side and the red is the other. I also made a gift bag to hold her present. The pattern was in one of Stampin' Up!s magazines, but the instructions were minimal and incomplete...the bag came out looking o.k. but it was a bit of a puzzle figuring out what to do with various flaps on the bottom.

This is the February exchange block. A sort of basket of flowers block, probably best seen set on point.

And guess who won the February blocks?! I laid them out on the bed tonight to photograph them, so of course Fuzzy immediately had to hop up right into the exact middle!

I don't have a design wall so i lay quilts out on my bed...you can see there are certain drawbacks to that!

  1. Dennis doesn't see the drawback.

  3. Hi Tom, Tama-Chan, Dennis, Cliff and Olivia. We think you're onto something! Also, what you might not realize is that Fuzzy is laying right in the very middle of the quilt blocks, which he figured out all by himself, and is helping to balance the design, 'cause his tummy floofs are hiding the one block that doesn't quite fit (it's got a lot of pink in it).

  4. The card and bag turned out beautifully.

Please do send over Louie to play with me. The woman is always going on about how I have so much energy I don't know what to do with myself.

  5. Hi, just catching up. You asked if I use film or digital. These days I only use digital. It's great because I can experiment all I want and not feel so bad if experiments don't work out.

  11. Fuzzie, you are such a good helper! Humans are strange, sometimes they just don't appreciate our work. We had to help a lot these days too. Glad to be back, we missed reading about your adventures!

  14. What a pretty and thoughtful card and, wow, you made the bag too! That's neat. I really like your quilt blocks, especially as they are in the last photo. I used to make stained glass panels and garden stones from quilt designs.

  18. Hi Cliff and Olivia, and Milo and Alfie. Thank you so much for the awards! Now i just have to figure out how to get the cute little graphic thingy to load...

Katie Jane, i used to make cross stitch and needlepoint in quilt designs before i started quilting...pretty interesting, the appeal of the designs! I bet your garden stones were gorgeous...have admired the stained glass on your web site.

Hi Judy and Karen. Thanks for the compliments and for stopping by!
